Coffee anyone?

Well u know I just thought as its late you might like something to sustain you...yep that's right its another late night post! Oh don't you love em! I know you're all sitting there shaking ur head saying no not really, your blog's pretty, well very borin really sam. So what is there to say? I went to church this morning...was ok. Church is one of those things that if you don't go with the right attitude then you've not goin to learn anything or get anything out of it really. And all too often I find myself going with the wrong attitude, not humble, not willing and ready to learn and be corrected by God. I think its quite hard as a young, Spiritually young as well, person to really get the most out of church meetings. Mainly cos it takes maturity and disicplin to be able to train the mind, heart and soul to be fully focused on God. However dispite the fact I let my concentration slip far too often something which I did get out of the meeting today was "Bless the Lord oh my soul" it struck me that we have to command the soul to bless the Lord and its not about doing it when we feel happy, because after all we are sinners and it is not natural for us to bless the Lord, praise God that by his mercy and grace we can, therefore we have to command ourselves to focus in on God and to bless him with all our Soul, mind, heart body and strength.

Psalm 103
A Psalm of David

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more.
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,
18 To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
19 The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
22 Bless the LORD, all His works, In all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

Something that has come to my attention today was the BBC's new series The Miracles of Jesus now first of all I was surprised that the BBC were doing anything connected to Christianity. Then I discovered that it was going to be presented by Rageh Omaar. Now then for those of you who don't know Rageh is a muslim and getting a muslim to talk about the miracles of Jesus is a clever way of doing an outright attack on Christianity and Jesus Christ (who if you didn't know Muslims do not believe is the Son of God). Its a bit like getting a man city fan to do a review of man utd. It doesn't make sense, its going to biased before it starts. And tonight my fears where confirmed. Not only was it historically inacurate, the main aim of the program was to say that Jesus Christ was no more than a disillusioned man who used his miracles to bump start a planned rebellion on the Romans. What is the BBC on about? Do you think they would let a born again Christian do a review on the life of Mohammed and his many (ridicuously young) wives? I dont think so!

Anyway Im going to end this post with a picture...I know that I have posted this picture before however recently its come to mean something to me. When I posted it before I named it Spectactular However I know have a new name for it:

God's big spot light

When I look at this picture the first thing which comes to my mind is the story of saul on the road to Damacus. Its like what I imagin it to have hav been like, I bright shaft of light coming out of the heavens. Then I look at the picture and the sky and the waves and think just how stormy it is and its like what my life was like, all stormy and troubled and I was drowning, quite literally I was gown down. Then God shone his spotlight on me and rescued me. And know God's using his big spot light and shining it on me showing me areas in my life that with his help I need to change...anyway I thought I'd just share that with you, hope something in this post was helpful.
