We used to sing that song a lot. Thing is, I'm not sure it's 100% correct. Certainly, scripture teaches us that "The heavens declare the glory of God", but it doesn't actually tell us that creation proclaims the lordship of Jesus. Sure, scripture explains that everything was made by and for Jesus, but it is scripture that proclaims this, not the creation. Perhaps something like "Jesus it Lord, the Lord of all creation" would be better first line?
